Asher Roth will be performing in Austin, Texas an the annual SXSW (South by South West) 2009 Music Festival on Saturday March 21st at ‘Vice’.  This year at SXSW there will be a several hip-hop artists performing including such heavywieghts as Big Boi, Bun B and Rick Ross. Over at Rap-Up.com Alex Thorton was lucky enough to get a preview of Asher Roth’s new album ‘Asleep in the Bread Aisle’ that will be hitting stores and iTunes April 20th.  Alex got the chance to preview the album in New York  with several other journalists.  Alex disects each track on his new album giving details and opinions for each song.  I have to say it’s a very well done review worth giving a read.  Check out the album preview here.

Asher Roth will be performing alongside acts like Fall Out Boy, 50 Cent and Deftones at Bamboozle Left at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California April 4-5.  Other acts performing over the two day event include punk legends The Vandals, All The Day Holiday, Artist vs Poet, Blackhouses, B.O.B, Born of Osiris, Can You Keep a Secret, Care Bears on Fire, DJ Prime, DJ Skrilex, Eye Alaska, P.O.S. and Irvine, CA band The Jakes.  For the complete artist list go here.

Asher Roth finds himself in some great company this week on the Billboard 100 song list.  His single ‘I Love College’ has landed in the 17 spot just ahead of Pink’s ‘Sober’ and Akon’s Beautiful.  As Asher’s radio play and sales increase expect his college anthem song ‘I Love College’  to climb the list even farther, maybe by this time next month he will be in the top 10.

Just wanted to give a heads up to all you MTVu Spring Break junkies out there, Asher Roth will be performing Live at MTVu’s Spring Break 2009 in Panama City Beach today March 11th. MTVu has invaded the Boardwalk Beach Resort for the second straight year to host all the festivities.  Other acts performing during Spring Break 2009 include, The All-American Rejects, Lil Wayne, Flo Rida and Jim Jones.  For more info check out MTVu Spring Break 2009 page.

On a recent trip to London Asher Roth sat down with DJ SemTex of SemTex TV and gave his story of how he got into the rap scene, got signed and what he thinks about the comparisons to Eminem.
